Senior School Curriculum

At Sibford we offer a broad and balanced curriculum for the ages of 11 - 18.

All disciplines are equally respected, and pupils are taught in small classes where dedicated teachers nurture, inspire and stretch each individual, but ultimately encouraging them to find their own talents and to simply be themselves.

We strive to identify and meet the needs of our most able pupils and provide enrichment and extension activities, both within and beyond the school to ensure they reach their full potential.

We also provide specialist support for those pupils who require additional help. We are a dyslexia friendly school with a well-established reputation for assisting pupils with a range of learning requirements. Our emphasis is on inclusion. Pupils who require additional support for learning will follow the mainstream curriculum while benefitting from a wide choice of options o suit their individual needs.

At Key Stage 3 (Years 7 – 9) pupils study a wide range of subjects designed to help them discover and develop their own individual talents.

At Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and 11), we have a core curriculum of english, mathematics, science, religious studies and physical education while GCSE option choices are carefully constructed after consultation with parents and pupils. Click here to see the Key Stage 4 course guide for 2024/25, and the GCSE options blocks for 2024/25.

Creativity is key to the approach we take to life at Sibford. Our art school includes large studios for painting, textiles, ceramics and sculpture. Our purpose-built music school offers a full range of facilities with practice rooms, a fully equipped technical studio and delightful ensemble room and our dedicated drama studio enables the teaching of both performance and technical studies.

Our taught curriculum is greatly enriched by visiting speakers and external school trips and the extensive use of our fully staffed library and ICT facilities.

All pupils follow a physical education programme that aims to promote health and physical development and makes the most of the excellent sporting facilities we have to offer.
