Cabaret is a sell out!

Students at Sibford School got some tips from the top when they put on their performance of the musical Cabaret.

Professional West End choreographer and co-founder of Sleek Technique, Flik Swan, joined the rehearsals to take the dancers through their paces.

Head of Drama, Neil Madden, said: “It was an intense four-hour workshop with Flik putting our Kit Kat girls, Sally Bowles and the Emcee through their paces. It was very exciting for all involved. After all, how many school productions can boast being choreographed by a professional ‘Fosse’ dance expert?”

Meanwhile, actor Simon Trinder, who is currently playing Trinculo in The RSC’s production of The Tempest, worked with the older members of the cast to share some of the rehearsal techniques practiced by international theatre director Mike Alfred.

Sibford’s production of Cabaret runs over three nights from Tuesday 7 February to Thursday 9 February … and with 48 hours to go to first curtain up, the show was sold out for all three performances.

“The dedication and concentration shown by the cast during rehearsals has been fantastic and I’m delighted that they will be performing to full houses each evening,” said Neil Madden.
