Helping silver surfers get online

getonlineSibford School is joining the biggest digital inclusion campaign in the UK next week when it hosts a special session for silver surfers.

Get Online Week, which runs from 12-18 October, aims to help show thousands more people how the internet can make their lives a little easier.

And on Thursday (October 15) Sibford School will be opening up its ICT department to host a free workshop aimed at the more mature.

Sibford’s head of ICT, Debby Evans, who will be running the workshop with the help of Sixth Form students, said: “The internet can help you with a myriad of things such as keeping in touch with family, managing your money and even booking doctor’s appointments and ordering prescriptions.

“This workshop aims to help those who haven’t used the internet before to get started.”

The free workshop will take place between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday October 15. To book a place please call Sibford School Community Development Officer, Ali Bromhall, on 01295 781216.
