Junior pupils at Sibford School are going on the run after signing up to the Daily Mile.
Under the scheme, which aims to improve the physical, emotional and social health and well-being of children, pupils are aiming to run, jog or walk a mile every lunchtime.
Edward Rossiter, Sibford Assistant Head with responsibility for the Junior School said: “The Daily Mile was started by a primary school in Scotland and is spreading across the country.
“We are delighted to sign up to the scheme and our experience in the first week has been brilliant. It only takes about 15 minutes out of the day but the benefits are fantastic. Staff have joined the children in their Daily Mile and even our three and four-year-olds are taking part … although currently they are doing just a third of the distance.”
