Charismatic lecturer, Dr Peter Vardy, visited Sibford School near Banbury in November to debate the state of the economy.
The academic, philosopher, theologian and author, presented an evening lecture entitled ‘The Financial Crisis … could it be regarded as a moral failure?’
Earlier in the day, Dr Vardy addressed year 11 pupils from Sibford and other schools in the Banbury area, when he presented a conference looking at post GCSE education.
‘Kick Start the Sixth Form’ featured a number of sessions including: ‘What’s the point of education?’ and ‘An introduction to the theory of knowledge’.
Michael Goodwin, Head of Sibford School said: “Dr Vardy is a well respected speaker and we are delighted that he was able to join us, not only to address pupils but also to stay on to present the community lecture.
“He is currently in the middle of a sell-out nationwide conference tour which includes dates at Methodist Central Hall in Manchester, Bloomsbury in London and Durham Cathedral, so this was a rare opportunity to hear him speak on the doorstep.”
