Pupils at Sibford School ended their first half term of 2014 with a concert featuring up and coming pop band, The Parades. The band, who last year supported Mcfly and performed at the Isle Of Wight Festival, are currently touring schools around the UK on behalf of the charity DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
Teacher Simon Baker said: “We thought this would be an excellent way to send the pupils off on their half term break. The band gave a fabulous performance and shared a strong message about the dangers of drugs, smoking and alcohol, stressing that teenagers can make the right decisions in life to ensure that they follow a healthy lifestyle.”
The Parades, who originate from Reading, are Dan Bartlett, Andy Burge and Callum Walton. After forming in 2012 under the name ‘We Struck Lucky’, the boys started to write and record their own material. In February 2013, they changed their name to The Parades after working alongside the clothes company ‘Jack Wills’.
