Pupils at Sibford School are giving their backing to the Rotary Club’s End Polio Now campaign.

Members of the school choir will be joining vocalists from Banbury Academy, Chenderit School and Frank Wise School to present a charity ‘Crocus Concert’ at St Mary’s Church in Banbury on Thursday 5 March.

The choir is also urging fellow pupils, staff and parents to show their support for the campaign by buying and wearing special fabric crocus buttonholes.

The crocus was chosen as a symbol of the End Polio Now campaign because it matches the dye painted on the fingers of children who have been immunised against the disease.

The Crocus Concert on 5 March will start at 7.15pm. Tickets cost £5 and available from Sibford School or from Fashion Fabrics, Parsons Street, Banbury.

A second concert, featuring vocalists from Bloxham School, North Oxfordshire Academy, Tudor Hall and Warriner School will take place on Tuesday 10 March.
