Sixth form student is British karting champ

Sixth form student Dan has been crowned British Open Senior KZ1 Karting Champ.

The title follows the The ABkC O Plate meeting which took place in March at Rowrah in Cumbria.

Explained Dan’s Dad, Brian: “We left home at 5 am on the Friday and got home at 11pm Sunday. It rained for the whole three days so the driving conditions were pretty awful.  However, the outcome could not have been better and Dan is now the British Open Senior KZ1 Champion.”

The victory means that Dan is currently the most successful KZ1 driver in Britain. Other titles under his belt include British GP Champion, MSA British Super One No. 2 and The British Super Four No. 4.

“KZ1 is the fastest and most difficult karting class … Dan’s kart accelerates as fast as a Ferrari and is capable of well over 100 miles an hour!” said Brian. “Furthermore, Dan is the youngest ever competitor to achieve this success … most of the other drivers are in their twenties and thirties.”
