A group of seven Sixth Form students from Sibford School spent the beginning of February in the United States after being invited to take part in the 19th annual Quaker Youth Leadership Conference.
Held in Rhode Island, the conference, titled ‘Equality: Past, Present, Future’, provided the opportunity to meet with pupils from Quaker schools in the USA and explore issues of equality, diversity and gender. Meanwhile, speaker and workshop sessions encouraged the young people to consider social justice and activism.
Making the most of their visit, the Sibford students managed to fit in some stateside sightseeing, including a visit to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck and Ground Zero. They also took in the Broadway production of Les Misérables featuring Alfie Bowe.
