Teachers at Sibford School weren’t going to let their pupils have all the fun when it came to dressing up as favourite literary characters for World Book Day.

While the children came to school representing a range of books including Richmal Crompton’s Just William, Lewis Caroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat, Junior School staff did their bit by arriving as characters from J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan.

Assistant head Edward Rossiter portrayed the fearful Captain Hook, Early Year’s assistant Alice Goodman played Wendy Darling, and year six teacher, Trudy Koochitt, was the canine nursemaid Nana.

“The children thought it was great,” said Trudy. “We all dressing up and it was really fun all being characters from one story. I must confess I did remove my head when teaching … and I’m really glad World Book Day isn’t in the summer term when the weather is much warmer!”
