Sibford School pupil Will Homewood is a step closer to achieving his dream of performing in the prestigious O2 after wowing judges at the TeenStar auditions held at the Beck Theatre in Hayes, London.

Judges described Will’s performance as ‘very confident and strong’ and voted him through to the regional final showcase, which will take place on 16 March, also in Hayes

If successful, the 13-year-old who lives in Horley, will then progress towards the National Grand Final, being staged at The indigO2 in July.

Will’s mum Nikki said: “We are delighted that Will is through to the next stage of the competition. Whether he gets all the way to the final or not, it is a great experience and a rare chance to perform in front of representatives from record labels, agencies and the entertainment industry.”

TeenStar is a national talent competition searching for the UK’s best young singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists.

Chris Grayston, events coordinator for TeenStar said: “We are looking to find an act that has something unique to offer… with both the ability to deliver a strong live performance but also to become a professional recording artist.”

  • On Saturday (23 February) Will performs on home turf when he takes part in the Banbury Young Musician of the Year Competition. Held at Sibford School, the competition is organised by Banbury Rotary Club and supported by Banbury Charities.
