Be you, Be Brilliant.

Welcome From the Head

Sibford Head - Toby Spence

To define a Sibford education is to look beyond the present and envisage everything your children can and will become. We recognise all children are different and our commitment to the individual needs of each child is the bedrock of our approach Be adventurous, Be curious, Be creative, Be confident, Be brilliant – Be you!, our pupils conform to no stereotypes; this underpins our motto “Be You”.

The Quaker values of truth and integrity, equality and community, peace, simplicity and sustainability underpin all of our endeavours and help shape the distinctive characteristics of Sibfordians. These important attributes not only help our pupils thrive in the present but prepares them to navigate life beyond Sibford, becoming responsible citizens and lifelong learners.

The nurturing, safe, supportive and tolerant environment creates a space in which children can strive to aim high, with no glass ceiling placed on their potential, academically or otherwise. In turn, they learn an appreciation of the importance of tolerance and consideration towards others.

Our broad and stimulating curriculum allows pupils to pursue their unique journey, be that a traditional academic pathway, creative arts, technology or horticulture. All disciplines are equally respected, and pupils are taught in small classes where dedicated teachers nurture, inspire and stretch each individual, but ultimately encouraging them to find their own talents and to simply be themselves.

Parallel to endeavour in the classroom our pupils are encouraged to take full advantage of the widest range of co-curricular activities on offer.  Participation in these activities promotes not only the development of important skills but also friendships based on shared interests, fostering a deep sense of belonging. Our genuinely rounded education equips them with the creative thinking, agility, resilience, confidence to lead and importantly the empathy of others required to navigate the complex world they will ultimately become responsible for.

No Head’s message on a website can do Sibford justice – a place which flourishes through partnerships and personal interactions. Please do take the time to come and meet us – you are most warmly welcome.
