Director of Co-Curricular and Enrichment
  • Full Time

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and passionate Director of Co-Curricular and Enrichment to lead and be accountable for the delivery of quality, delivery and effectiveness of the School’s co-curricular programme. The Director of Co-Curricular and Enrichment will manage key co-curricular leaders, co-ordinate staff participation, and support the Deputy Head in the planning and delivery of key School events, ensuring there is a workable and effective School Calendar.

The ideal candidate will bring exceptional experience and knowledge, a passion for motivating and inspiring pupils across all age ranges and a keen desire to be part of the whole school community. The ideal candidate should have:-

 

  • Obtained a good honors degree
  • Significant teaching experience (with QTS) at senior school level
  • Proven experience of leading and managing innovation and change
  • Outstanding track record as a teacher
  • Decisive and confident in organisational management
  • Evidence of influencing outstanding outcomes in other teachers
  • Strong IT skills, especially in data-handling and analysis
  • Strong communication skills, with both internal stakeholders and in public

Experience of senior leadership at a school which offers a significant co-curricular programme and/or experience of creating and implementing a varied co-curricular programme, in a co-educational context would be a strong advantage but not essential.

Director of Sport

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and passionate Director of Sport to lead and continually improve our successful and busy Sport and PE department. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional experience and knowledge, a passion for motivating and inspiring pupils across all age ranges and a keen desire to be part of the whole school community. They must also have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Expert knowledge of Sport and Physical Education across KS1-KS5, including the ability to teach examination PE up to and including A Level and/or CTEC Sport.
  • Demonstrable experience of working at management level
  • Proven track record of developing and managing successful sports programmes
  • Co-ordination of sports tours and events
  • Proven experience of working with Sport and Physical Education in schools.
  • A team player and the ability to work flexibly with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of enhancing development of skills and talent
  • Proven experience of working with children of a wide ability range
  • Ability to lead and inspire pupils of all ages and levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Housemaster/Housemistress

We are seeking to appoint a resident Housemistress/housemaster to have a presence in boarding and leading the supervision and guidance of staff for the safety and welfare of boarding students.

The ideal candidate will bring effective, exceptional experience and knowledge, a passion for motivating and inspiring pupils across all age ranges and a keen desire to be part of the whole school community.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Obtained a good honours degree in a chosen subject to meet the teaching requirements of the role
  • Previous experience in a pastoral/boarding role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents/guardians and staff
  • An excellent team member with the ability to lead a small staff team
  • The ability to relate well to adolescents and enjoy their company
  • Tact, sensitivity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Efficient, with good IT, organisational and administrative skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and adhere to and comply with the School’s Child Protection Policy statement at all times

Previous experience of successfully managing a boarding house would be an advantage but not essential.

Part-Time Teacher of Food and Nutrition
  • Part Time

Due to the exceptional popularity of the subject, we are seeking to appoint a part-time teacher of Food and Nutrition to join our growing department.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, creative and passionate about food and nutrition, and be able to contribute to positive outcomes for our young people and the wider school community.

You should have proven experience teaching Food and Nutrition at Key Stage 3 and 4 and have the ability to manage a complex caseload, have strong literacy and ICT skills, including the use of school databases, good organisational skills and interpersonal skills.

All members of teaching staff in the department are directly responsible to the Head of Department in the first instance.

All teaching staff are responsible, in the first instance, for:

  • Teaching the schemes of work as laid out by the Head of Department or agreed upon by the department, in a disciplined environment that allows access to the curriculum by all pupils while adhering to Health and Safety.
  • Ensuring that teaching rooms are well-maintained and displays are current and in good condition. Recording and monitoring on a regular basis of students’ work and progress in an effective manner.
  • Feedback to the department on any INSET or training attended.
  • Promoting the subject through their teaching and their involvement in any of the extra curricular activities taking place in the department.
  • Most teachers are expected to be a form tutor or co-tutor.

Graduate Assistant (resident or non resident)
  • Full time, term time only – 40 hours per week.
  • £23,795 FTE which is £17,709 per annum, pro rata for term time only.

We are seeking to appoint two Graduate Assistants for the 2024/25 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity if you are seeking to develop a career in teaching or passionate about working with young people in another capacity.

Graduate Assistant – Music and Drama
You should have a keen interest in Music and Drama (playing an instrument and having some drama experience would be an advantage) and looking to pursue a teaching or related career in these areas.

Graduate Assistant – Physical Education & Sports
You should have a passion for sport and physical education (taking part in sporting team activities would be an advantage) and want to pursue a career related to teaching Sport and PE.

To be considered for either of the above roles you will be:

  • Educated to graduate level, degree or equivalent.
  • Live in the UK, have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have a good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Willing to support various aspects of school life, including some boarding and weekend duties.
  • Warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils.

Working Hours:
40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends. Term time only, 34 weeks academic year.

Accommodation can be provided on a ‘house share’ basis. A subsidised accommodation charge applies but this includes utilities and meals provided Monday to Friday during term time. Further information on accommodation is available.

Senior Grounds Keeper
  • Full time – 39 hours per week.
  • 28 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays

We are seeking a Senior Grounds Keeper is to manage the day-to-day preparation, maintenance and care of sports pitches, hard surfaces and general school grounds and gardens on our 50 acre site. The role manages 1 Grounds Assistant.

To be considered for either of the above roles you will be:

  • Educated to GCSE level
  • Live in the UK, have the right to work in the UK.
  • Sports Pitch Management experience
  • Proven experience of working as Head of Grounds or Assistant Grounds Keeper in a school or similar setting.
  • Experience of grounds management
  • Knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety & compliance requirements of this role

A Certification in Grounds Management or similar would be an advantage but not essential.
